ABOUT THE OHA
The Obesity Health Alliance is a coalition of over 40 organisations working together to reduce obesity by influencing Government policy.
The goal of the Obesity Health Alliance is to prevent obesity-related ill-health by supporting evidence based population level policies to help address the wider environmental factors that lead to excess bodyweight.
We do this by:
- Sharing insight and expertise among members
- Developing and advocating evidence-based policy recommendations
- Influencing decision makers and the media

The Obesity Health Alliance is lead by a Steering Group of nine members. We are funded by contributions from our members. We do not accept funding from corporate organisations.
The OHA secretariat is hosted by a Steering Group organisation on a rotating basis. The host organisation provides administrative capacity to the OHA. All decisions relating to OHA policy and strategy are made jointly by the Steering Group. Read our Terms of Reference.
The OHA secretariat is currently hosted by Diabetes UK. Previously, UK Health Forum hosted OHA secretariat between 2015 – 2019.
